Things the Coronavirus can’t stop!
Covid-19 has put a stop to a lot of people’s plans. The past few weeks there were very few campers and a lot of cancelled reservations here at Moonshine Creek Campground. However, there ARE some things that even the Coronavirus can’t stop: things like strutting turkeys, wiggly tadpoles…and the Coronavirus could NOT keep us from celebrating Cinco de Mayo on Taco Tuesday!

The flowers are still blooming and the mountains are turning green. In spite of the Coronavirus, spring is in the air. Unfortunately along with spring comes pollen! Too bad the Coronavirus didn’t put a stop to allergies.

As of May 8th the state of North Carolina is in Phase 1 of reopening and that means, as an essential business, Moonshine Creek can take any and all camping reservations. Business is picking up while everyone is still using proper social distancing and hygiene practices in the office and around the campground. Covid-19 may have postponed camping season but it did not stop campers from camping!

There are fewer trash bins throughout the campground – everyone is responsible for taking their own trash to this beautiful, freshly painted dumpster. This is for the protection of the workampers.

One of the recent projects that Jim completed: 5 new doggie bag depositories around Moonshine Creek for the benefit of our pet owners.
I don’t know why your cable doesn’t work! The cable guys Wait! don’t cut that one!
Many of our campers will be happy to hear that the cable has been upgraded on the center loop.

A lot of little improvements have been made over the past few weeks! Basically if it didn’t move, we painted it ; ) The Coronavirus can’t stop improvement at Moonshine Creek!
The Coronavirus did not stop us from eating ice cream or taking walks or enjoying the creek.

Back at Old Glory improvements were made as well. Mark installed a new fireplace, bathroom faucet and shower head. Take that Coronavirus!

Although the Blueridge Parkway has been partially closed down during the lockdown, it is starting to open back up and you can check on-line for the current status. Real time status of the parkway opening/closing can be accessed HERE. Do not let that virus stop you from hiking or enjoying the parkway!

So that’s my list of what the Coronavirus can NOT destroy or put a stop to. We look forward to a great camping season with a great group of workampers and our fearless leaders, Jim and Dana here at Moonshine Creek Campground.
